Oral Ketamine is less expensive and may be a safe at-home treatment option for some (requires stable medical status and access to a safe setting and sitter).

Esketamine is the only form covered by insurance and is administered in a psychiatrist office via a nasal spray. Esketamine dosing often seeks to avoid mystical experiences. There may be waiting lists to access Esketamine due to insurance covering it.
